Ryan Taylor, Pharm. D.
Vice President of Pharmacy Services
Ryan joins Green Tree Pharmacy with 20 years of pharmacy experience holding various positions across the care continuum. Within the hospital setting, served as a clinical pharmacist, Medication Safety Officer, and most recently as a Regional Director of Pharmacy Services at UnityPoint Health. He also has experience managing within a community pharmacy setting.
Ryan earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Physiology from Southern Illinois University in 1996 and his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from University of Illinois Chicago in 2001. He also completed an Executive Development Program in Strategic Agility through the Bradley University School of Business in 2017. Has been an active member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists since 2001 and the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists. He has also completed the immunization certification program through APhA.
Ryan’s areas of responsibility and interests are broad and include strategic business planning, regulatory compliance, sustainability initiatives, medication reconciliation optimization, pharmacy automation implementation, and progressive clinical pharmacy services.
Neil Heineke, Pharm. D.
Director of Operations/PIC
Neil Heineke is the Assistant Director of Pharmacy Operations for Green Tree Pharmacy, making him primarily responsible for the day to day operations of the pharmacy. Neil’s other responsibilities at the pharmacy include therapeutic interventions, special request medication profile reviews, Medicare Part D medication management, disease management interventions, and providing drug information services. In addition, Neil also serves as a pharmacy consultant for two of the nursing facilities serviced by Green Tree Pharmacy. Neil earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Butler University and began his employment with Green Tree Pharmacy when he was a pharmacy student in 1996. Upon graduation in 2002, he worked in retail and was a manager at a retail pharmacy in Normal, Illinois. He has worked for Green Tree Pharmacy as a pharmacist since 2005 and is a member of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists.
Jason Degenhart, Pharm. D.
Director of Operations/IT Liaison
Jason Degenhart graduated from Butler University with his Doctorate of Pharmacy in 2002 and has since become a licensed pharmacist. He worked retail pharmacy before coming to Green Tree Pharmacy in May of 2005. Some of his responsibilities at the pharmacy include therapeutic interventions, special request drug reviews, Medicare Part D medication management, disease management interventions, drug information services, consulting, and advising Heritage’s consultant pharmacists throughout Illinois. He is also an active member of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists.
Chuck George, Pharm. D.
Director of Clinical Pharmacy Services
Chuck brings over 30 years of experience in healthcare serving in various roles in pharmacy-related practice. He has ten years of community pharmacy, home IV infusion, and 20 years of hospital pharmacy, where most recently, he was a regional manager of Pharmacy Operations with OSF Healthcare in the Northern region. During this time, Chuck also served over ten years as a Pharmacy Consultant with Green Tree Pharmacy, an instructor at Illinois Valley Community College for their Pharmacy Technician Certificate Program, and preceptor for pharmacy students from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, St. Louis College of Pharmacy, Creighton University, Drake University, University of Iowa, Midwestern University, and the University of Illinois at Chicago-Rockford.
Chuck graduated from Drake University with a B.S. in pharmacy in 1989 and achieved his doctorate (PharmD) at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1998. His areas of responsibilities and interests include data analytics/informatics, automation technology, inventory management, formulary development, enhancement of clinical pharmacy services including pharmacokinetics, disease management, antimicrobial stewardship, and sterile / non-sterile / hazardous drug processing. He works closely with the consultants, pharmacists, and technicians at Green Tree Pharmacy to ensure we are using the most current clinical guidelines and protocols while maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations.
Chuck is also an active member of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists.
Tracy Schultz is the Controller for Green Tree Pharmacy. She has worked in the long-term care pharmacy industry for close to ten years, all of which has been with Green Tree Pharmacy. Tracy is responsible for overseeing the billing of medications to the insurance companies, nursing homes, and responsible parties. She is also responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, insurance coverage and reporting of medication inventory.
Tracy earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Illinois State University in finance. Before joining Green Tree Pharmacy, Tracy worked for Hickory Point Bank and Trust, a division of Archer Daniels Midland Co., Decatur, Illinois. There, she worked as the Assistant Vice President of Operations and also the Assistant Cashier.
David D. Wegman, RPh, MS, FASCP
Director of Business Development
Dave Wegman has been a Registered Pharmacist since 1977 and is currently serving as Senior Vice President of Pharmacy Services for Green Tree Pharmacy. Dave has been with Green Tree since 1996, serving as Director of Pharmacy until 2008. Prior to coming to Green Tree, he was Director of Pharmacy at Apostolic Christian Restmor, another long-term care pharmacy, for 10 years. Dave has also worked as a clinical pharmacist at the University of Iowa Hospital pharmacy for four years. He also worked as a pharmacist at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago while in graduate college.
Dave’s education consists of a BS in Pharmacy, an MS in Pharmacy Administration, and a Residency in Managed Care Pharmacy, all from the University of Illinois College of Pharmacy. He has been a Certified Geriatric Pharmacist for 15 years. He is also a Fellow in the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (FASCP). Dave is active in professional pharmacy organizations, including the ASCP and the Illinois Pharmacists Association. He is a past president of the Illinois Chapter of ASCP, Chairperson for the Long-Term Care section of IPhA, and vice president for the Illinois Association of Long-Term Care Pharmacy Providers. He is currently on the Board for IL ASCP, is a member of the ASCP DEA Task Force and Government Affairs Committee, and serves on the Senior Care Advisory Board for Illinois State Senator Chuck Weaver.
Dave has made several presentations at the state and national levels for IPhA, ASCP, and the Illinois Health Care Association and has served as a guest lecturer at the Chicago State University College of Pharmacy and the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He served on the Illinois State University Mennonite College of Nursing Advisory Council for their Expanding Teaching Nursing Home Project and the BroMenn Regional Medical Center’s Occupational Health Committee. He has also taught classes for pharmacy technicians at Heartland Community College in Normal, IL. and continues to serve as a preceptor for pharmacy students from several colleges of pharmacy. Dave has served on the Speaker’s Bureau for GSK Pharmaceuticals and the Long-Term Care Advisory Board for Novo Nordisk.
